Nylarose Moore

I am a queer, woman of color and to be able to create art that uplifts those voices is of great importance to me. I want to always hold space for the people who don’t feel as though they can be themselves in spaces that are dominated by people who are not them. There is a need for more voices to be heard and through my art I’m hoping that need will be fulfilled. Being able to create art that supports and uplifts those that aren’t represented is one of my main goals. Cultures are created and sustained through the telling and retelling of stories, which helps us find meaning and make sense of our world; stories influence, teach and inspire; and increase our sense of connection through understanding and empathy. I am a storyteller and I believe that all stories deserve to be told. Stories that carry history, lessons, and entertainment have been passed down from the beginning of time. To be able to tell those stories is what I want my art to be. How will I tell those stories? Through the lens that I see the world. Being me is all that I know so why not share that?
